Some interesting articles on Georgian-Abkhazian Relationships

Abkhazia at the center of turf battle

"I am personally worried about losing sovereignty," said Vyacheslav Eshba, the chief of aviation. "But if they say, 'You Abkhazians can't be independent, you have to be a part of something,' then Abkhazians would rather be a part of Russia, which has oil and gas and where our fraternal people live."

:
“Georgia, We Love You,” write Abkhazian Children (in Russian)

“Abkhazia is our land and we must return it - these words are often heard in Georgia. Unfortunately, we speak less about the people than about the larger events that control their lives. When I arrive in Sokhumi I am often asked whether we want Abkhazia if it is empty of the Abkhaz people. And I do not know what to answer because I feel we have not settled ourselves what we in fact want-to get the land back or reconcile with the people,” said Mrs. Esma who was born in Abkhazian family and now she is a mother of Georgian children and lives in Tbilisi.

  1. love this post :) thanks! specially when Mrs. Esma is saying: we have not settled ourselves what we in fact want-to get the land back or reconcile with the people.

whatever we want, in all cases to reconcile with the People is first step. if Abkazia is empty of the Abkhaz people, as Abkhaz People are asking i personally feel bad, don't want to visit Abkhazia at all, and feel myself as a big loser! schame!

Mr. Ershba is writing: then Abkhazians would rather be a part of Russia. ... I am sad about that, counts gas and oil. I can understand, but it's too tragic for me.

  3. Dear lado, i wander to whom you are refering to? authors of this blog are not any NGO activists. I would advice you to be more adequate and most importantly polite, as it would suite to your age ;)

  4. It's nice to hear that our blog is making impression like it's from some NGO.

It was not clear from comment whats the reason of angriness. And to ask has, i am afraid, no since.

  5. I just remembered Saakashvili made a similar comment on this campaign. Dear lado you seem to be very much impressed and influenced by the president :))
