Mission

Abkhazia's de facto president Bagapsh visited Moscow. I wonder why Mr.Putin couldn't manage a smile on his face while Bagapsh seemed so exited. Mr.Putin's look in this picture reminds me of his look at Mr.Elzin in a video where his first presidency was discussed. I wonder why people didn't notice such evident for me fact, that he hated this man. However, photos may lie, maybe in Mr.Vladimer's grumpy face his great respect and friendly attitude was hiding towards de facto Abkhazia's representative. I can't say for sure.

Bagapsh highlighted that Abkhazia is independent country and that this won't change. Problem is that in reality Abkhazia isn't independent despite of recognition of Russia, Nicaragua, Nauru and Venezuela yet, and if Abkhazia is striving for it, many things have to change. They are still on their way, but I'm not sure if on right one though. Russia's Duma released document calling Abkhazians and Russians one nation ...nation of Russians I guess, if you care for little details. But do you? Farther Russia will control Abkhazia's borders, railway and airport. Bagapsh argues EU countries want to join NATO for same reasons as Abkhazia wants to ...[join Russia?] bring Russian army. I don't think NATO and Russia are similar institutions though. This kind statements work only on people who don't understand that.

While in Russia not only the officials, but also regular citizens start thinking what can they get instead for their 'investment' in Abkhazia, discussions are already becoming stretching. Questions such, does Abkhazians at all have something to say? Can they at all offer something worth of afford? Becoming a topic and there is not agreement openly made yet, but for sure it is, in minds of influential people of influential country.
